khandvi is a Gujarati recipe prepared with minimum oil and taste pleasing if served in breakfast.
let’s see what all ingredients are required for making khandvi.
Khandvi Recipe Ingredients
gram flour – 1 cup curd – 1 cup(whisked) salt – as per taste (3/4 tsp) turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp these to be used for making the mixture.
red mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp green chilly – 2-3 (finely chopped) coconut – 2 tbsp (grated) green coriander- 1 tbsp (chopped) oil – to make tadka these are to be used for tadka for khandvi.
for making khandvi make a batter of gram flour. take gram flour, whisked curd, turmeric powder, and salt in a bowl stir until all lumps get dissolved.
now add 2 cups of water in this batter. stir again until the batter gets smooth. we have added ginger paste along with curd. the batter is ready, now we will make khandvi from it.
add this batter in a utensil and cook for 9-10 minutes or until batter separates from the utensil. cook the batter by stirring constantly. it takes 9-10 minutes for cooking this much quantity of batter.
the batter is cooked now turn off the gas and set the batter. you can set the cooked batter of khandvi on any plain surface. like you can set it on this site or backside of a plate. you can also use melamine or steel tray or setting the batter.
plain marble surface can also be used for setting the batter. make sure of not spreading oil on the surface else we will not be able to spread khandvi thinly. spread the batter like this.
spread the batter evenly like this. we have spread it like this in plate now let it get set. it will get ready within 5-6 minute san then we will cut them into pieces. cut into 1.5-2 inch pieces.
make marks like this with the help of a knife. now fold it like this making a roll. place the roll on a plate. khandvi rolls are ready now we will make tadka.
add 2 tsp oil and red mustard seeds in the pan. now pour this tadka on khandvi.
garnish with green coriander, green chilly, and grated coconut. khandvi Recipe is now ready.
