How To Make gobi aloo sabzi recipe (step by step)

Today we will make gobi aloo sabzi recipe which is liked by almost everyone.

Let’s see what all ingredients are required for making gobi aloo sabzi Punjabi style

Cauliflower – 400 grams
Potato – 250 grams (2 big sizes)
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Red chilly powder – less than 1/4 tsp
Mango powder- 1/4 tsp
Salt – as per taste (1 tsp)
Garam masala – less than 1/4 tsp
Dry fenugreek leaves – 1 tbsp
Green coriander – 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Oil – for making sabzi

Floret the cauliflower and then soak it in salty lukewarm water for 5 minutes. Add little salt in lukewarm water.

Now place florets in water as this helps in cleaning the florets. Soak it for 5 minutes and then take it out. Peel the potatoes and cut them just before making sabzi. Peel them and soak in water.

Now add 2 tbsp oil in the pan. When oil gets hot add asafoetida, cumin seeds. When cumin seeds turn little brown add turmeric powder, coriander powder, ginger, chilies, and fenugreek leaves.

Saute the masala and then add florets and potatoes into it. Also, add red chilly powder and salt. Stir until potatoes and florets get coated nicely with the spices. Saute for 2-3 minutes. Now add 2-3 tbsp water into the sabzi.

Cover it and cook for 5-6 minutes on low flame and then check it. Add 3 tbsp water. Cover the pan and cook sabzi on low flame for 5-6 minutes. Check after 5 minutes.

Stir the sabzi nicely and check whether potatoes have become tender or not. Add 2 tbsp more water if needed. Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes more on low flame. Check again.

With the help of spoon check whether potatoes have become tender or not. Don’t overcook the vegetables as they can get mashed and don’t come out tasty. Sabzi should be crispy. Sabzi is now ready.

Now add mango powder,garam masala and green coriander leaves in the sabzi. Gobi aloo sabzi is ready and looks delicious. Delectable Gobi aloo sabzi is ready.
